Haven’t you all wondered about the vast range
of differences that exist among human beings?
Though physiologically we are made of the same
substance and function commonly our responses and approach to life vary tremendously.
We exhibit diversity in size shape, complexion, energy, thinking, etc
A certain kind of action can produce different
reactions in people. For example-A room full of people in a function may feel
so many indifferences. Some may be feeling hot and want to increase the speed
of the fan, while others might feel chilly if the fan speed is increased. So
what accounts for these diverse experiences?
How can we explain the fact that one person
eats very little, exercises, and still gains weight, while the other person
gorges on food, rarely exercise, and never seems to put on any weight? Why the
simple milk does nourish one individual but produces loose stool and stomach cramps in another?
Doshic Constitution
of our body
Ayurveda has answers for all this confusion-
it’s simply your doshic constitution
or Deha
Prakruthi that determines our nature! Panchamahabutas are the five
universal organizing principles and the phase of creation (SATTVA, RAJAS, TAMAS) that governs the object. Ayurveda refers to
our doshic constitution as Prakruthi and this defines our nature. This
knowledge permits us to recognize the unique way of functioning in this world.
This determines not only our physical functioning but also our mental and
emotional characteristics. Our Prakruthi is determined by the balance of doshas
with which we are born, it is a blend of our parent’s doshic constitution at the time of conception.
Three constitutional types are mentioned in
Ayurveda called VATA, PITTA, KAPHA.No
individual perfectly exemplifies one doshic
type or a perfect blend of all these three doshas. Usually, it will be the
combination of these doshas that is tridoshic constitution that brings out the
characteristic feature among individuals. By knowing our Prakruthi, we can utilize our strongest qualities excessively. With
proper awareness, we can use the right diet
and lifestyle choices so that we can avoid the imbalance of the doshas in our
body which gives rise to diseases.
Prakruthi
assessment is an extremely important part of diagnosis and Integrative
treatment at Institute of Applied dermatology. Balancing the doshas is the key to
good health and digestion. Prakruthi is assessed
Through classical parameters and based on Prakruthi
inferred the Integrative diet is prescribed, aiding immunity and health of an
